Debilitating medical conditions are those that interfere with normal daily life and a person's ability to function normally. There are many conditions and symptoms that would be considered debilitating, but disease or, illnesses that considerably interfere with a person's physical or mental abilities would be considered debilitating.
Chronic medical conditions are those that persist over time, sometimes with progressively worsening symptoms. According to the Department of Health, a chronic medical condition has severe symptoms that persist for a minimum of three months (90-days).

Medical marijuana card debilitating medical conditions as described by the Florida Department of Health:
Article X, Section 29, (b), (1)
“Debilitating medical condition means cancer, epilepsy, glaucoma, positive status for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Crohn’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or other debilitating medical condition of the same kind or class as or comparable to those enumerated, and for which a physician believes the medical use of marijuana would likely outweigh the potential health risks for a patient.”
